By Debs | July 25, 2008
A recent study has found a link between heart disease . A study done in France has found that after evaluating 131 heart patients there was a direct link between the severity of the gum disaese and the severity of the heart problem.
In another study in America samples were taken from 657 people. They found that signs of atherosclerosis were present in those who were carrying the bacteria responsible for causing gum disease as well.
Another study carried out on 161 people also discovered that those with gum disease were 6 times more likely to suffer from chronic heart disease.
So our aim at Seven Fields is to get your gums healthy and keep your body healthy too.

Is it that straightforward that by brushing twice a day we
can avoid having to treat gum disease altogether?

No unfortunately not quite that simple. Gum disease is caused via bacteria in the plaque. It is influenced by other aspects, such as your response, smoking, diabetes, etc.
One in five of us are susceptible, and need to clean meticulously. In addition you do need to clean in between your teeth, especially the backk ones.
I know this sounds like a plug, but do get checks with a dentist who is keen on prevention. It may be you only need to see a hygienist once a year, or it could be that you need more regular care.
If correct prevention is carried out you should be able to prevent the vast majority of gum isssues.
I hope this was helpful
